“ Burger was ok, but the fries were really nice and crispy! The milkshake was sweet and flavorful! ”
“ Small Cheval Cheeseburger: Chicago's Au Cheval serves up arguably one of the best burgers in the United States. The downside is that the wait times can be a couple hours long, but I highly recommend trying it at least once. On the plus side, Au Cheval's spin-off restaurant Small Cheval offers a cheeseburger almost as good as the original with little to no wait. I believe there are nine Small Cheval locations in the Chicago area. The cheeseburger comes with two juicy beef patties (served medium), melty American cheese, crunchy pickles, onions, and creamy dijonnaise. The bun is just as vital to the beef when it comes to a great cheeseburger. Small Cheval serves theirs on a lightly toasted buttery brioche bun that is perfectly soft, chewy, and proportional to the amount of beef. For 13 you would be hard pressed to find a better burger in Chicago. Au Cheval is still the gold standard as you can add an over easy egg and thick cut maple glazed bacon, but Small Cheval is definitely no ersatz Au Cheval. Just like Au Cheval, Small Cheval's phenomenal cheeseburger is Doughboy approved doughboy_food_reviews ”
“ I pass this spot several times a day and finally got a chance to stop in. If you are looking for a good burger and fries this is the place for you it's a simple menu which in my opinion is great. Let's start with the staff everyone was super friendly. The staff member who took our order was very patient. My husband asked a million questions. The interior decor was very inviting. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating both were very clean. The burgers were seasoned and cooked too perfection classic is a double patty. Not greasy the bun was toasted. The Dijon mustard was tasty. Fries were great. The atmosphere was really laid-back. Great food reasonable prices. They do have alcoholic beverages and ice cream. Bathroom was spotless. ”
“ Everything was amazing. We were sampling Chicago favorites for the weekend as out of staters & the server went above and beyond for us. Food & service was perfect. Would eat a burger here every time I'm in Chicago. Highly recommend the truffle & cheese dips for the fries too :) ”
“ This urban burger joint impressed me with its delicious, no-frills burgers. The patties were juicy and perfectly cooked, and the buns were fresh. The simplicity allowed the quality of the meat to shine through, making for a fantastic burger experience. I'll definitely return for more of these mouthwatering burgers! The only downside is that the inside searing area is very limited. ”
“ One of the best burgers I've had. They're wagu truffle burgers and they are to die for. Fries are also to die for - they're cooked in beef tallow apparently ! Menu is super simple , but that's the point! In addition to burgers, they've got booze (beers, cocktails, shots), ice cream, shakes, sundaes Ample seating inside & out. Bathrooms available. Street parking. Would definitely come back! ”
“ Came here after St. Paddy’s day festivities, there was plenty of space, food and drinks were killer (per usual) a great place to grab a bite. Everything was clean, including the bathrooms. The staff was really great as well. ”
“ This is a quick stop w a great view of the Chicago river and many little stores nearby. The double cheese burger (11) with or Without American cheese, is really good quality. Single burgers are 9.19 with cheese. Single burgers without cheese is 8. They also have a veggie burger option. I didn’t try it yet. The fries are 5 and thin and mostly crispy (I hate soggy fries) but wish it were more crispy. They have a dine in big restaurant but this is the fast food place with just 4-5 items to make it simple. It’s extra to add lettuce and tomato and bacon. Quality food at a decent price with a nice view in West Loop. ”
